Money.Net Licenses Customizable Market Data Platform and Chat Service.
Allows Institutions to Own and Control User Information.
NEW YORK, June 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Money.Net is now making available customized versions of its recently released, complete, end-to-end, highly customizable cloud-based market data platform and chat service to institutional clients. Corporations can now license and own a customized version of the Money.Net platform which guarantees privacy and control over their own user data. Amidst recent demand from financial institutions and trading firms to control their user data, including tickers tracked or traded and news viewed, many are looking for alternatives to Bloomberg and Thomson Reuters. Bloomberg has come under fire in recent weeks after reports that Bloomberg journalists were accessing customer data from institutions including Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Chase.

While financial institutions need to keep private all user data, the reality of building and maintaining their own market data software is a major undertaking and not the core competency of most institutions. Money.Net's front end is an instant alternative and major upgrade over older legacy terminal platforms and can be delivered in as fast as 45 days and with large cost savings. Money.Net competes with Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, Sungard and Interactive Data Corp (IDC) in financial information services.
This Money.Net platform is a completely customizable and private labeled (white labeled) web application branded with the client's logo, colors and website links. Companies that are interested can elect to connect their platform version to their existing market data feed or user database. For faster and easier integration, Money.Net can offer a turn-key solution as a full-service provider using Money.Net's ticker facility and back-end databases.
Client-owned versions of Money.Net's licensed platform are inter-operable and completely portable, allowing institutions to integrate their order execution or current trading configuration. Money.Net can also provide vendor of record services for exchange data licenses and reporting. "High-performance, with an intelligently designed user-interface, Money.Net's powerful new platform simplifies a system that was once complex and fragmented," says H.L. Van Arnem, CEO of Money.Net.
The Money.Net licensed platform, which is similar to Thomson Reuters Eikon, comes with an existing proprietary chat solution much like the recently launched initiative called Open Federated Chat, which is backed by Thomson Reuters Corp. and Markit—with some support from Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, and JPMorgan Chase. Open Federated Chat aims to become an alternative to the widely used Bloomberg LLP Messenger. The Money.Net Chat Messenger module uses Openfire server and Smack API on the client side and connects to and integrates with all major chat services like Google Talk, Google Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, AOL Messenger, and Facebook Messenger.
The Money.Net Application utilizes Java applet technology to run the application through the web browser. It is developed under Net Beans 7 and uses JDK 5 source / binary format. The GUI module SDK uses Swing with OS-based user interface. The Money.Net application displays all Money.Net modules, including the Screamer Portfolio Tracker, Smart Charts (Technical Tick Charts with studies), RadarXray mapping analytics and the News Viewer, in one desktop with a windows-like interface. This all-in-one application allows users to create multiple desktops and multiple modules (windows, views, screens) in each desktop. The Money.Net news module uses JSON standard for inner data transmission to integrate over 500 news sources and RSS feeds.
Software requirements:
