Monster Jam® Breaks 6 GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ Titles

ELLENTON, Fla., Aug. 10, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Monster Jam^®, the larger than life sport that leaves fans on the edge of their seats, has etched itself in the history books.  GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS, the global authority in record-breaking, validated six official titles at Bradenton Motorsports Park in Bradenton, Florida. The record-breaking stunts were featured on Discovery Channel's Diesel Brothers: Monster Jam Breaking World Records, which aired Saturday, August 8 and is now available on Discovery GO.  The special featured Monster Jam drivers Heavy D and Diesel Dave from the hit show Diesel Brothers on Discovery Channel.

Brother and sister duo Adam Anderson and Krysten Anderson from the "First Family of Monster Jam" each set a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title.  Adam broke the record for most monster trucks jumped by a monster truck, a title previously set by Colton Eichelberger at the 2019 Monster Jam World Finals®.  Driving Megalodon®, Adam jumped 8 Monster Jam trucks, besting Eichelberger's previous record by one truck. Krysten, the first and only female driver of Grave Digger®, set a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the highest ramp jump - monster truck.  On her first and only attempt, she traveled 33.8 feet in the air, crushing the existing record by 12.5 feet.

Great Clips Mohawk Warrior® driver Bryce Kenny became the first person to break the 100mph barrier, setting the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for fastest speed for a monster truck with a speed of 100.31mph. 

12-time Monster Jam World Finals Champion, Tom Meents, traveled 209 feet to earn the record of the longest stoppie (nose wheelie) on a monster truck (distance).  Balancing on the front two tires of Max-D™, Meents broke the previous record of 50.85 feet.  Sadly, though his fifth attempt traveled more than 600 feet, it was disqualified from record contention because all four tires did not land on the ground.

Bari Musawwir became the holder of two separate GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS titles: most donuts (spins) in a monster truck in one minute and most consecutive donuts (spins) in a monster truck.  Driving the Zombie™ Monster Jam truck and staying within a 77-foot diameter circle, Musawwir completed 44 donuts in one minute and 58 consecutively, beating the existing records of 41 for both.  More than 100 donuts were performed across four attempts before proving successful.  

Todd LeDuc attempted a seventh GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for Monster Jam, aiming to achieve the first forward momentum double back flip in a monster truck.  The stunt took weeks to develop, with no fewer than 12 practice attempts by two different drivers.   On his first record attempt, the Monster Energy® Monster Jam truck engine blew, causing the truck to only complete a single rotation.  On-site technicians worked tirelessly and swiftly to swap the motor so that LeDuc could try one more time.  Unfortunately, this attempt also proved unsuccessful, as the truck only completed 1.5 rotations before landing into a pit of cars.

Monster Jam GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS Titles & Attempts:  

• Highest ramp jump - monster truck (Record Set)
• Krysten Anderson, the first and only female driver of Grave Digger®, set the record for the highest ramp jump - monster truck on her first attempt, traveling 33.8 feet in the air from the top of the ramp to the bottom of the back tire.  She beat the previous record, 21.33 feet, by 12.5 feet. 
• Longest stoppie (nose wheelie) on a monster truck (distance) (Record Set)
• 12-time Monster Jam World Finals® Champion, Tom Meents, driving Max-D™, completed the longest nose wheelie in a monster truck for a total distance of 209 feet on his 4th attempt. His record to beat was 50.85 feet.  To set the record, GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS requires all tires to land on the ground; in his 5th attempt he traveled more than 600 feet, but all tires did not land on the ground, requiring him to submit his 4th attempt.
• Fastest speed for a monster truck (Record Set)
• Now officially the fastest Monster Jam driver in the world, Bryce Kenny, driving Great Clips Mohawk Warrior®, was able to set a speed record at 100.31, which no one has ever gone over 100 mph in a monster truck. The previous record was 99.1 mph. 
• Most consecutive donuts (spins) in a monster truck (Record Set)
• After 4 attempts, the most consecutive donuts (spins) in a monster truck is now 58 and was achieved by Bari Musawwir driving Zombie™ while keeping within a 77-foot circle. The record to beat was 41.  
• Most donuts (spins) in a monster truck in one minute (Record Set)
• Bari Musawwir also set a record for the most donuts (spins) in a monster truck in one minute at 44 giving him two GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS titles.  
• Most monster trucks jumped by a monster truck (Record Set)
• Adam Anderson driving Megalodon® jumped 8 Monster Jam trucks to earn his GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title.  The previous record was jumping 7 Monster Jam trucks, held by Colton Eichelberger set at Monster Jam World Finals® in 2019.  
• First forward momentum double back flip in a monster truck (Attempt)
• Todd LeDuc attempted the first-ever forward momentum double back flip while driving a monster truck, a stunt no one has ever landed before, with 12 practice attempts by two people.  As he hit the top of the 20-foot ramp on the first attempt, the engine blew.  The on-site technicians had to quickly swap a motor for his second attempt that ended up being unsuccessful and one of the hardest hits in Monster Jam ever.
