MONTCLAIR, N.J., April 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Parkmobile USA, Inc. announced today an innovative new service that will allow residents and visitors in Montclair to save time and money by using their mobile phone to pay for parking.
Drivers will be able to sign up at www.parkmobile.com, where they can also download a mobile app. Once registered, customers can use the mobile app, the internet, or a phone call to pay for parking. All parking meters will still accept coins for payment.
The mobile apps for iPhone, Android, and Blackberry are easier to use. iPhone users will be able to take advantage of the GPS functionality, saving up to 5 favorite zones and license plates and quick parking in the same zone and parking space that was used the last time you parked or select a new space in the same zone. These additional features are coming soon for Android and Blackberry. Please visit our website at www.parkmobile.com for information on the features of each app.
"Pay by phone offers customers a new and better way to pay for parking. Parkmobile users have 24/7 access to their online account; they can print reports and easily track their parking expenses. It's much faster and more convenient", noted Albert Bogaard, CEO of Parkmobile.
"I'm confident that cell phone parking will be very popular with Montclair residents and will provide a convenient new way for visitors to park and shop locally" said Jerry Fried, Mayor of Montclair. "It will be great to be prompted to 'add a quarter' by your smartphone app rather than have your meter expire."
"The Montclair Parking Authority is excited to offer this payment alterative to the public" stated John Teubner, Executive Director of the Montclair Parking Authority. "Now customers that find themselves without change have an option other than running the risk of getting a ticket."
This is Parkmobile's first implementation in NJ. For additional information and locations, please visit: www.parkmobile.com
