TORONTO, June 17, 2015 /CNW/ - CraveTV^TM announced today the addition of more than 140 exclusive HBO stand-up comedy specials, increasing its HBO stand-up lineup seven-fold. The new HBO content begins streaming Friday, June 19 only on CraveTV, and adds yet another robust lineup of premium television content to CraveTV's HBO, Comedies, and Stand-Up Comedy collections. Bolstering an already strong stand-up collection, the new content includes dozens of classic performances anchored by the late George Carlin with nine specials, as well as featuring some of today's top comics in many stages of their careers. 

Today's announcement is the first in a series of expansions of the HBO category coming later this summer.

Full of social and political satire, the diverse lineup of programming is highlighted by nine shows from George Carlin, one of the most acclaimed comedians of all time, including his first comedy special ON LOCATION: GEORGE CARLIN AT USC (1977), his ground-breaking PLAYING WITH YOUR HEAD (1986), as well as LIFE IS WORTH LOSING (2005). The collection also features specials from today's top talent, including ONE-NIGHT STAND: LOUIS CK (2005), in which the relentless comedian unloads on hell, the realities of having children, and his wife; BILL MAHER: VICTORY BEGINS AT HOME (2003), featuring the politically incorrect comedian's thoughts on politics, terrorism, and sex; and ELLEN DEGENERES: THE BEGINNING (2000), the talk show host's third HBO special, examining the issues facing men, women, and society in general.

Additionally, the ANNUAL YOUNG COMEDIANS' SHOW features a variety of today's funniest comics early in their careers, including Jon Stewart, Judd Apatow, Ray Romano, and Drew Carey.
