More Than 300 Earn Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC), the Only Professional Certification for the Healthcare Product Regulatory Field

Twenty-one Earn New RAC (General Scope) Credential

ROCKVILLE, Md., Jan. 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- More than 300 regulatory professionals from around the world earned Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC) during the most recent exam period for the professional certification. Candidates for the RAC credential sat for one of four versions of the exam in autumn of 2009, with 315 achieving a passing score. Twenty-one earned the new RAC (General Scope) credential, which was offered for the first time.

Created, managed and administered by the Regulatory Affairs Certification Board (RACB) and supported by the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS), the RAC is the only certification specifically for regulatory professionals in the healthcare product sector. Since its inception in 1990, more than 5,000 have earned the RAC. A list of the new RACs will appear in the February issue of Regulatory Focus magazine and online at RAPS.org/rac.

RAC-credentialed professionals are among the current and rising leaders in the regulatory profession. As evidence that the credential's prominence and importance is increasing, registrations for the RAC exam are on the rise. Registration for the spring 2010 exam period is currently open and more information can be found online at RAPS.org/rac. The RAC exam is intended for regulatory professionals with three to five years of regulatory experience.

Four different RAC certifications are available: the RAC (US) covering U.S. regulations, the RAC (EU) covering European regulations, the RAC (CAN) covering Canadian regulations and the RAC (General Scope), which covers general regulatory responsibilities and international standards.
