More Than Half of Americans Currently Seek Extra Income

ADDISON, Ill., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- The recession was declared officially over in September, yet according to a recent study conducted by The Pampered Chef, more than one in two (58%) Americans are still considering a part-time job for extra income.(1)  The survey also revealed that one in three (33%) adults are more likely to consider taking a second job now than they were six months ago.

For Donna Rosato, an independent Pampered Chef Consultant from New Jersey, the recession led to significant reductions in her household income when her husband's salary was cut in half.  As a part-time medical transcriber, Donna relished being home with her children but needed a solution to the family's growing financial crisis.  "I was a long-time Pampered Chef customer so I decided to give the sales consultant opportunity a chance.  It seemed like a great way to earn extra income without sacrificing too much time with my family," said Rosato, mother of two.
