(NYSE: ADPT) ("Adeptus Health") today announced that they have entered into a new partnership to improve access to emergency medical care in central Ohio. The joint venture will identify multiple sites for freestanding emergency rooms in the Columbus, Ohio area to provide local communities with more convenient access to emergency medical care services. The fully equipped freestanding emergency rooms are expected to provide central Ohio residents with enhanced, integrated care and emergent patients with expedited access to all of the services provided by Mount Carmel.

As the most recent American College of Emergency Physicians' (ACEP) National Report Card highlights, emergency visits continue to rise and as physicians overwhelmingly noted, this increase has been combined in part with an escalation in the acuity of patients' injuries and/or illnesses. This underscores the growing need for additional access points to high quality, 24/7 emergency care.
