Mountain Water Co. installs new water main as part of ongoing infrastructure investment initiative
Portion of Hillview Way will be closed to traffic Oct. 16th and 17th
MISSOULA, Mont., Oct. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Hillview Way will be closed on Thursday, October 16, and Friday, October 17, between Clearview Way and Alliance Way while Mountain Water crews install a new water main.
The two-day closure is part of a system improvement project to replace an aging steel 20-inch main and an 8-inch main located west of the Elk Hills Condominiums with 1,700 feet of new, 24-inch ductile iron water main. The new main will run just north of the condo development and along the east side of Hillview Way, in the right-of-way.
Crews are working on these dates due to the school closure at Chief Charlo School to minimize traffic impacts. Detour routes will be provided on 23rd Street for downhill traffic and on Clearview Way for uphill traffic. Please drive slowly and pay attention to traffic control devices.
The $833,000 project, part of Mountain Water's ongoing infrastructure improvement initiative, is expected to be fully completed by November 15. Traffic impacts for the remainder of the project are expected to be minimal.
