BOCA RATON, Fla., July 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- MovieTickets.com, the leading global provider of remote movie ticketing, announced it has entered into a multi-year deal with the Cinema Buying Group (CBG), an independent theater consortium administered by the National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO), to offer its services across CBG's network of theatres. In doing so, MovieTickets.com will be the exclusive ticketing company to offer the CBG members a platform through which patrons can browse movie showtimes and purchase tickets in advance. The announcement was made today by Bill Campbell, NATO/CBG's Managing Director, and Joel Cohen, CEO of MovieTickets.com.
The Cinema Buying Group represents over 7,000 screens in the United States and Canada. A significant number of their independent theaters do not currently have online or mobile advance ticket solutions in place. Through the agreement, these exhibitors have made a key technological commitment to extend the MovieTickets.com service to their customers looking to take advantage of the convenience of buying tickets to movies in advance.
"Since our formation, MovieTickets.com has taken great pride in its ability to work well with large, medium and small theater chains," said Cohen. "We are committed to the ongoing success of independent theaters, and commend the CBG on its leadership in the adoption of new technologies. We have tailored a suite of programs and services for their members and look forward to widespread adoption amongst their vast membership."
CBG's Bill Campbell said, "CBG's mission is to ensure a thriving community of independent exhibitors in the digital age. This deal with MovieTickets.com takes us a critical step forward in that mission."
MovieTickets.com is the leader in advance movie ticketing with 240 theater chains, representing over 28,000 screens worldwide in its group, offering moviegoers a quick and convenient way to purchase tickets online, via mobile devices and at 877-789-MOVIE. About Cinema Buying Group
The Cinema Buying Group is a group purchasing program of the National Association of Theatre Owners. We negotiate on behalf of our membership for frequently purchased theater supplies and services. We are non-profit, member-owned and managed. We have been created by a group of independent theatre owners who recognize that cost savings on theater supplies that large theater chains enjoy are not available to smaller operators, unless they pool their screen count and negotiate directly with suppliers.
