MPHOnline.org, a Leading Resource for the Public Health Career Sector, Lists 50 Highest Paying Jobs in Public Health
SAN ANTONIO, Feb. 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading public health degree and career information website MPHOnline has published a list of the 50 Highest Paying Jobs in Public Health. The list represents one of the most up-to-date and comprehensive collections of information about public health careers currently available online and can be viewed at http://www.mphonline.org/50-highest-paying-jobs-in-public-health/.
"There is currently a very high demand for public health workers but relatively little information about the diversity of careers and compensation levels open to those entering the field," said J. Shane, Managing Editor of the MPHOnline.org website. "We believe this list can help fill that gap and give prospective public health professionals a useful starting point for beginning their job search."
The list is organized by formal education requirements, beginning with public health jobs requiring little or no formal education and moving on to positions requiring a bachelor's degree, master's degree, and finally, a PhD. Careers are listed in each category from lowest paying to highest paying, along with the typical salary range for each. Salary information was derived from the most recent data published by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and international public health agencies.
The highest-paying jobs in public health requiring no formal educations include Community Health Worker and Reproductive Health Specialists. For jobs requiring a formal education certificate or associate's degree, Environmental Health Technician and Public Health Inspector top the list. Medical Investigator and Hazardous Waste Inspector are top-paying careers for those holding bachelor's degrees, while those with a master's degree in public health will find Emergency Preparedness Coordinator and Public Health Planner at the high end of the pay scale. Scientists, researchers, and professors of public health top the list of the highest paying careers in the field.
MPHOnline.org is among the most popular websites dedicated to the public health profession, publishing rankings and reviews of the top public health degree programs and information on careers in public health.
