Mrs. Green's Opening in New Canaan, Conn., April 18

NEW CANAAN, Conn., April 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Mrs. Green's Natural Market (www.mrsgreens.com), a neighborhood store committed to clean, natural foods, will officially open Friday morning at 8 a.m. in New Canaan at 2 Pine Street. An official ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 7:45 a.m. in collaboration with the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce.

To celebrate their partnership with the community of New Canaan, Mrs. Green's will donate five percent of proceeds during the store's grand opening weekend to the New Canaan Nature Center, a nonprofit environmental education center and sanctuary. The New Canaan Nature Center provides educational events and opportunities for students and adults of all ages, and the Nature Center is also home to one of the town's largest preschools.

Scheduled grand opening festivities include the following:

• Open house preview celebration featuring live entertainment, free food and beverage samplings and kid-friendly Easter activities – Thursday 5:30-8:00 p.m. (Interested parties can RSVP for this free event at bit.ly/NewCanaanRSVP)
• Anna Zap and the Star Street Team from Star 99.9 (WEZN-FM) will be on location Friday 3-5 p.m. with prizes and giveaways.
• Danny Lyons from WEBE 108 will be on-site Saturday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a prize wheel and station freebies.
• In the spirit of Easter, Mrs. Green's will host in-store prize hunts by hiding special eggs throughout the store at random times throughout the weekend which can be redeemed for prizes such as gift cards.

The New Canaan store will be the fourth Connecticut store for Mrs. Green's, joining the existing stores in Fairfield, Stamford and Wilton. Regular hours for the New Canaan store will be 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.
