MIRAMAR, Fla., July 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- MTN Satellite Communications (MTN) announces it has further strengthened its executive team with the appointment of Mark Walter to the role of chief financial officer (CFO).  Given the roll-out of MTN Nexus™, the industry's first-ever hybrid network, Walter's appointment is timely as the company addresses ever-changing customer needs and service delivery around the world.

Peg Grayson, MTN's former CFO, moved to MTN Government Services (MTNGS) as president of this division, along with MTN's founder, Richard Hadsall, now CTO of MTNGS.  Ms. Grayson also brought on Mike Shakarji, formerly of Inmarsat, as vice president of business development.  Catherine Melquist, formerly of Astrium Services, joined MTNGS as vice president of market development.  MTN also recently added Chris Leber, formerly of ViaSat, as executive vice president of commercial business development, as the company focuses in on increased value and service excellence in its core markets.

"MTN is in the position to once again change the way people and organizations pay for and experience communications in some of the most remote locations around the world," said Errol Olivier, president and CEO, MTN.  "As we forge ahead in implementing MTN Nexus, our team must be rock-solid in market familiarity, business discipline and innovation so we can remain the leader in offering market solutions never before available.  MTN is a customer-centric organization, and I am excited to be able to continue to attract and build a team I know will help lead our important partner base into our next 30 years."
