TORONTO, April 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Multi-Health Systems (MHS Inc.) announces the acquisition of assets from Functional Assessment Systems (FAS), including the CAFAS® and JIFF®.
"At MHS, we believe in strong product growth, providing exceptional experience, and being digitally driven," explains Hazel Wheldon, Publisher and COO of MHS Inc. "By adding gold-standard and innovative assessments such as the CAFAS® and JIFF® into our product line, MHS will continue this legacy."
The Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS®) is recognized as the gold standard for assessing youths' day-to-day functioning across critical life domains and aids in measuring outcomes over time.
The CAFAS®, developed by Dr. Kay Hodges, directs positive organizational change, better reallocation of financial resources, and significantly improved outcomes. "There are over 60 papers and presentations supporting the effectiveness of the tool," remarks Dr. Hodges. "I am very pleased MHS Inc. will continue to make these assessments available as the company's values align seamlessly with FAS'."
The Juvenile Inventory for Functioning (JIFF®) is a new innovative web-based, live-voice interview designed for youth in juvenile justice, school mental health, child welfare, protective, prevention and health-related settings.
The JIFF® assessment interviews youth or parents with questions read aloud in English or Spanish which can identify problem areas in ten life domains. Organizations that use these tools report significant cost savings and increased family satisfaction. One of the advantages of the CAFAS® and the JIFF® is that they do not require practitioner training.
"We are excited to introduce the JIFF®, CAFAS®, and other FAS assessments into our product line at MHS Inc. These tools have shown effective financial and clinical results for problem identification in youth and subsequent diversion to services," remarks Dr. Steven Stein, CEO of MHS Inc. "We are proud to continue to make these powerful tools available."
