Multi-Instrumentalist Singer Songwriter Dulcie Taylor to Release CD "Free Of This Sorrow" on March 13, 2012
Spring US Tour to Support New Album
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Award-winning singer-songwriter Dulcie Taylor will be releasing her new album, Free Of This Sorrow, on March 13, 2012 on MesaBluemoon Recordings. The album, her first release in nearly eight years, was produced by George Nauful and mixed by Grammy-winning producer Keith Olsen.
After receiving her first guitar at an early age, Dulcie Taylor quickly began a career of playing, singing, and songwriting. Taylor launched her recording career in 2000 with a self-released album, Other Side Of The Bed. Her work was immediately praised by her peers and the album earned Taylor a Wammie (Washington Area Music Award). Her second album, Diamond & Glass (2002 Black Iris/MesaBluemoon Recordings) received substantial national airplay and charted at Album Network's non-commercial AAA format. Her talents have allowed her to share the stage with many greats, including Jerry Lee Lewis, John Gorka, Bonnie Raitt, The Doobie Brothers, Dave Mason, Livingston Taylor, Raul Malo, Asleep At The Wheel, Guy Clark, and Kathy Mattea.
Taylor's upcoming album, Free Of This Sorrow, showcases her theme of "good love, bad love, life lived and lessons learned" with Dark Blue Velvet - a melancholy break-up tune with John McEuen's (Nitty Gritty Dirt Band) signature banjo accompaniment, the title track, Free Of This Sorrow, laments the ironic and unending quest to be free of life's pain, Cigarette Smoke speaks to a daughter's devotion to her mother, and Love Can Take You High is an upbeat ride on the rollercoaster of love.
Free Of This Sorrow will feature many high profile guests, including McEuen on guitar, mandolin, banjo; Tim Pierce (Crowded House, Christina Aguilera, Seal, Santana) guitar; Denny Fongheiser (Tracy Chapman, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Nicks) drums; Rick Braun (Boney James, Kirk Whalum) trumpet; Scott Breadman (Jose Feliciano, Lindsey Buckingham, Macy Gray, Paul Simon) percussion; Brian Mann (Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald, Larry Carlton) accordion; and Tony Recupido (The Witcher Brothers) guitar, vocals.
