HERCULES, Calif., Aug. 14, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Multiple Organics is pleased to announce their latest achievement in food safety, meeting the requirements of the Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Level 2 certification – recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).
What This Means. The Safe Quality Food standard encompasses all food safety from farm to customer. Obtaining the SQF certification requires companies to go through a rigorous evaluation process. Certified SQF auditors assess the company's Food Safety Quality Management System (FSQMS): Vendor management, facility programs, Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points (HACCP) plan, allergen control, crisis management, food security and management commitment. Additionally, SQF requires on site HACCP trained SQF Practitioners who not only lead the implementation but also makes certain that the SQF program works and is followed. Multiple Organics has appointed three SQF Practitioners to ensure compliance at the highest level.
Buyers Will Benefit. Requiring SQF certification from suppliers helps to protect the buyers brand and, in turn, has the possibility of increasing consumer confidence and loyalty. SQF assures the buyer that the products they are purchasing have passed international standards for food quality and safety. GFSI benchmark schemes are the highest level of achievement any food company can obtain making SQF certification a testament to the processes that a company uses to help ensure safety, consistency, traceability and trust.
