Napa Valley Destination Council Announces Name Change, Becomes 'Visit Napa Valley'
NAPA VALLEY, Calif., Aug. 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Napa Valley's official tourism marketing organization, the Napa Valley Destination Council, will be renamed Visit Napa Valley as of today, August 1. The name change is part of the organization's efforts to make it easier for guests to access all that the Napa Valley has to offer. Coinciding with the name change is the launch of a redesigned and updated website with a new, more intuitive URL, visitnapavalley.com. The refreshed website features enhanced destination travel tools with themed itineraries, hotel booking abilities, and an overall improved user experience that will make it easier than ever to visit Napa Valley.
The Visit Napa Valley mission is to promote, protect and enhance the Napa Valley's position as North America's premier wine, food, arts and wellness destination.
"Visit Napa Valley is devoted to developing new and improved ways to promote the region's exceptional offerings to both consumers and travel industry professionals," said Visit Napa Valley President and CEO, Clay Gregory. "Our new name and relaunched website reflect our continued efforts to engage these groups with a fresh and accessible approach."
While no longer a part of Visit Napa Valley's web address, the 'Legendary' concept – a nod to the founders of North America's fine wine industry – remains an integral part of messaging and promotion of the region. The phrase, 'The Napa Valley. Legendary,' will continue to appear on the website, in signage at the Napa Valley Welcome Center, and on branded materials.
