Nassau County PBA, SOA and DAI Host Food Drive to Assist Veterans in Need
MINEOLA, N.Y., Nov. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- On Tuesday, November 11, 2014 the Nassau County Police Benevolent Association, Superior Officers Association and the Nassau County Police Department Detectives Association will hold a Veterans Day food drive in support of Island Harvest Food Bank, Long Island's largest hunger relief organization. The collection will directly benefit Island Harvest's Operation: HOPE initiative, which delivers food and supplies to Long Island veterans and military families in need of assistance.
"The PBA, SOA and DAI are honored to partner with Island Harvest to participate in providing food and supplies for our veterans and military families in need. These heroes and their families have made sacrifices in defending our great country and it is now our turn to give back to them," said James Carver, President of the Nassau County Police Benevolent Association.
Dedicated to helping feed the thousands of struggling veterans and military families on Long Island, the Nassau County PBA, SOA and DAI are asking interested participants to donate frozen turkeys, fresh produce and non-perishable food items to any of the designated locations between 9:00 a.m. and 4: 00 p.m.
Collections will be held in the following places:

- Shop Rite (Morton Village), 1054 Old Country Road, Plainview, NY 11803
- King Kullen, 127 Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre, NY 11570
