National Defense Industrial Association's (NDIA) Environment, Energy, Security and Sustainability Symposium and Exhibition (E2S2)
NEW ORLEANS, May 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of the E2S2 Symposium, Kelly Carnes, CEO of TechVision21, is pleased to be joined by Cathy Snyder, Vice President of Lockheed Martin, and Don Juhasz of the Defense Logistics Agency, in a panel discussion on the opportunities and barriers to renewable energy technology development at defense installations.
"The federal government has long Talked the Talk about moving our country toward a green and sustainable alternative energy economy. The Department of Defense (DOD) plays a critical role as a first customer for these technologies and is Walking the Walk toward making a green future a reality in America's military," said Kelly Carnes, President and CEO of TechVision21.
The panel will examine opportunities and barriers to energy technology commercialization, and how the military is poised to increase the pace of clean alternatives and ensure energy security by serving as a sophisticated first customer for leading edge technologies.
"Every innovator knows escaping the Valley the Death, and demonstrating technical and economic viability at scale are two of the biggest challenges for new renewable generation and energy efficiency technologies. DOD can have a huge impact on commercialization of these next generation systems," added Carnes.
The panel is part of a four-day event being held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. The event started May 9 and runs through May 12.
