National Fenestration Council (NFRC) accredits Architectural Testing (ATI) to perform NFRC 202
Architectural Testing, Inc. of Fresno, CA becomes the first NFRC accredited laboratory to perform NFRC 202: Procedure for Determining Translucent Fenestration Product Visible Transmittance at Normal Incidence.
FRESNO, Calif., April 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Approved by the NFRC membership in 2012, NFRC 202 provides manufacturers of flat, diffusing products the ability to obtain a Visible Transmittance (VT) rating on the whole product. Before NFRC 202 existed, manufactures of translucent panels were not able to test for VT via simulation or through the use of a spectrophotometer. With NFRC's adoption of NFRC 202 and the announcement of Architectural Testing (ATI) as the first and currently only laboratory accredited to perform this type of testing, manufacturers now have a solution for measuring visible transmittance at normal incidence of their translucent panel products.

"After nearly two years of cooperative work with NFRC to create and publish this standard, we are excited to be able to offer this new service to companies previously unable to obtain a Visible Transmittance rating. We look forward to expanding this method in the future to cover an even broader range of products," Mike Thoman, Director – Thermal Simulations and Testing, stated upon approval by NFRC .
