National Foundation for Women Legislators Statement on Verizon-Google Deal

WASHINGTON, Aug. 12 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Foundation for Women Legislators released the following statement today regarding this week's agreement between Google and Verizon:

"The National Foundation for Women Legislators' Internet Caucus is encouraged by the Verizon/Google joint policy proposal that was released on Monday.  

As elected women, we are concerned about ensuring that every American has access to broadband service technology and the beneficial impact it has on education, healthcare, the environment and the economy.  The joint proposal provides a path forward to achieving this goal.  

We commend the efforts of Verizon and Google on reaching a compromise position and urge the members of Congress to give it serious consideration."
