National Hispanic Media Coalition and Latino Decisions to Release a Poll on How Media Portrayals Impact Public Opinion of Latinos and Immigrants

WHAT:
LD and NHMC have completed a research project that studied the impact that media narratives of immigrants and Latinos have on public opinion towards Latinos and immigrants. At a press conference, the organizations will release the results of their research and a poll, which also looked at whether media portrayals fuel negative stereotypes. Among the findings are that the news and entertainment media significantly influence the general population's perceptions of Latinos and immigrants.
