National PTA Partners with People to People Ambassador Programs

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Parent Teacher Association (PTA) announced today that it will be working with People to People Ambassador Programs, the leader in global educational travel experiences, to provide an educational program geared to promising future leaders.

The PTA Future Leaders Forum will bring together middle school students from around the nation in Washington, D.C., for an opportunity to learn about American civics and social responsibility while emphasizing key PTA values and priorities like diversity and inclusion, community service, and advocacy. The content, logistics, and execution of the forum will be delivered by People to People Ambassador Programs, which has a long history of providing educational leadership programs to students.

Through this program collaboration, the first of its kind for PTA, students will meet notable leaders, learn the significance of national historical sites and institutions, build leadership skills, give back through community-service projects, participate in diversity-awareness training, and learn how to effect change through advocacy.
