Nation's Credit Unions Join NASA Federal To Support Children's Miracle Network

UPPER MARLBORO, Md., March 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- NASA Federal Credit Union (NASA Federal) and the nation's credit unions have generated over $100 million since 1996 for the Children's Miracle Network (CMN) through Credit Unions for Kids. This successful run continues this spring with the Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run which will draw over 15,000 runners to Washington D.C. on April 1. This world class fundraising run, which coincides with the National Cherry Blossom festival, will collect much-needed donations for children's hospitals nationwide. Credit Unions for Kids is the 3rd largest fundraising entity for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, only after Wal-Mart and Costco.

In addition, NASA FCU and the nation's credit unions are sponsoring the Credit Unions Kids at Heart marathon team at this year's Boston Marathon on April 16. The program's mission is to support sick and injured children and has helped thousands of children and their families as they seek treatment at Children's Hospital Boston. To date, Credit Unions Kids at Heart has donated over $3.4 million dollars for fetal cardiac research, pediatric brain research and to create a patient-family lounge for Children's Hospital Boston.
