NEW YORK, April 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Gotham Beauty, the Ultimate Destination for the Natural Beauty Conscious has today served a Cease & Desist notice on Christopher Coffee, the entrepreneur behind Gotham Beauty Lounge for allegedly infringing its intellectual property rights.

Firing the opening salvo on what may become a protracted contentious intellectual property case, the Founder and CEO of Gotham Beauty, Richard Annington stated: "My team and I have diligently built Gotham Beauty as a go-to destination for those who have a passion for natural and organic beauty products.

The intended opening by Mr. Coffee of a beauty spa and his plagiarizing of our brand name is an unscrupulous and intentional action to attempt to pass off on the brand equity of Gotham Beauty and capitalize on the goodwill we have worked so hard to achieve."

Commenting further, Annington said: "Gotham Beauty Lounge will be offering products and services which go against everything we have built our brand around – safe, effective and non-toxic natural beauty.

We are going to do everything in our power to prevent Mr. Coffee and his colleagues from profiting from the blatant confusion their choice in business name will cause, the first step in this process is issuing a cease and desist notice."
