First Brand of 100% All Natural Breads Ranks #5 Among Top 10 Food and Beverage Brands of 2010 As Part of SymphonyIRI Group's New Product Pacesetters Report

IRVING, Texas, May 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Nature's Pride® - the first brand of 100% all natural breads available across the country – has been named one of the top food brands by SymphonyIRI Group. The brand also ranked #5 alongside other newly launched products by the Coca Cola, Pepsi and Budweiser companies in SymphonyIRI's "Top 10 Food and Beverage Brands of 2010" New Product Pacesetters report, a benchmark analysis of exceptional first-year success for newly launched consumer products.

The report also showed that Nature's Pride was rated the highest of all Top 10 New Product Pacesetters among both food and beverage and non-food brands in terms of household product trial. Due to successful advertising and marketing initiatives, the brand was purchased by a notable 11.7% of all U.S. households during the 52 week sales period analyzed by the group.

SymphonyIRI, a leading global provider of consumer, shopper and retail market intelligence and insights, considered all brands that launched between February 2009 and January 2010 for inclusion in the report. Sales data used to rank each brand's performance was collected for 52 weeks after the brand reached 30% distribution. New Product Pacesetters had to be either an entirely new brand or brand extension, and a minimum of $7.5 million in sales during 13, 4-week sales periods (52 weeks) was required to qualify.

Nature's Pride marked the first new brand of bread products to be introduced by its parent company, Hostess Brands, in several years. It has become one of the company's most successful product lines, having grown to include several varieties of 24 oz. hearty breads, 20 oz. traditional soft breads, Premium Harvest® buns and rolls as well as OvenClassics breads.  Earlier this year, Nature's Pride expanded its offerings with the launch of Nature's Pride Hearty Wheat with Flax, the first 100% natural bread available across the country to be baked using pure olive oil and the first in the Nature's Pride line to provide a good source of Omega 3-ALA, which comes from flax seed.

Nature's Pride bread is baked using only all natural ingredients.
