NCAA and Getty Images Enter Exclusive Image Distribution and Licensing Partnership
NEW YORK, March 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The NCAA and Getty Images have agreed to a five-year partnership that will designate the photography company as the NCAA's exclusive photo distribution and licensing partner through the year 2021. The partnership, which is effective immediately, will provide the world with real-time photography from all NCAA championships, and licensing opportunities for all media and NCAA corporate partners.
The NCAA has more than 150,000 images from championships and events that date back to the 1950s. With 90 championships spanning 24 sports, Getty Images will manage the NCAA's photo and licensing requests and offer onsite digital transmission where same day event coverage can be viewed and accessed. The first event will be the NCAA Men's Basketball Championships in which Getty Images and the NCAA will collectively provide comprehensive photo coverage of every game from start to finish.
