NDMS Participates in the Food 4 Kids BackPack Program

DALLAS, Nov. 1, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- North Dallas Moving and Storage (NDMS), a family-owned and operated Dallas moving company, along with their partner, North Texas Food Bank (NTFB), is working with educators to provide nourishment for chronically hungry kids in North Texas. Since 2013, NDMS has participated in the Food 4 Kids BackPack Program to ensure our youth -- the future of our nation -- doesn't go hungry.

Hunger is real and it's depriving young minds of the nourishment they need to develop and thrive. Food 4 Kids provides elementary school students who come from low-income households and depend upon free lunch programs with nutritious, non-perishable food packages on weekends and when school isn't in session.

Every Friday afternoon, purchased and donated foods are tucked discreetly into the backpacks of students in the program in order to eliminate stigma and protect privacy. By providing students with reliable access to healthy, kid-friendly food, NDMS hopes to fulfill their vision of a hunger-free North Texas.

"Kids hold a special place our hearts," said Brandon Morris, president of North Dallas Moving and Storage. "They're at the mercy of their parents when it comes to food, clothes, medicine, and even a safe place to live. Delivering food to kids in poverty means the world to us. We feel privileged to be able to help the North Texas Food Bank distribute food to children in the Richardson, Plano, and Allen school districts that need it the most."

North Dallas Moving and Storage is one of two Dallas transportation services responsible for serving an average of 1,800 chronically hungry children each week during the school year in over 70 elementary schools.

NDMS has supported and collaborated with several charities over their 50+ years in business, including Move for Hunger and Back the Blue Foundation that supports their local police department. The company continues to partner with the BackPack program year after year, however, as they can see the tangible benefits Food 4 Kids has had on the local youth, providing them with the nourishment they need to flourish and succeed in life.
