Negotiation Leaders to Share Insights, Best Practices at its Acclaimed Executive Education Seminar, 'The Program on Negotiation for Senior Executives'
Designed to bring together public- and private-sector senior executives with experts from Harvard, MIT and Tufts, the seminar offers intensive training in negotiation theory and practice
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., April 21 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- "The Program on Negotiation for Senior Executives," an executive education seminar addressing the theory, practice, challenges and opportunities faced during negotiations, will be held on May 17-18, 2010. This intensive, day-and-a-half session will be held at The Charles Hotel in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It is designed for anyone with an interest in improving their conflict resolution skills and negotiating technique.
The seminar is hosted by the Program on Negotiation (PON) at Harvard Law School, a university consortium dedicated to developing the theory and practice of negotiation and dispute resolution. The May event features three half-day sessions led by Guhan Subramanian, the Joseph Flom Professor of Law & Business, Harvard Law School; Douglas Weaver Professor of Business Law, Harvard Business School; Academic Editor, Negotiation newsletter, and Author of "Negotiauctions"; Michael Wheeler, Professor of Management Practice, Harvard Business School; Academic Editor, Negotiation Journal, and Co-author of "What's Fair: Ethics for Negotiators"; and Lawrence Susskind, the Ford Professor of Urban and Environmental Planning at MIT, Vice-Chair for Instruction at the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School, Co-author of "Built to Win," and founder of the Consensus Building Institute.
Throughout the seminar, attendees will learn to add value to the negotiation dialogue so that all parties feel they were treated fairly, had a good process and achieved sustainable results. In bringing together senior executives from across industry sectors and distinguished faculty from Harvard Law School, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Tufts University, "The Program on Negotiation for Senior Executives" offers a highly interactive format that enables attendees to test out new techniques in specially designed simulations. "It's the approach that separates the people from the problem…turns differences into mutual gains…and shows how you can win while being fair," said Robert H. Mnookin, the Samuel Williston Professor of Law, Harvard Law School and PON Chair.
Concepts and lessons explored in this seminar may be applied to all aspects of an executive's professional career, personal relationships and daily life. This seminar also offers a solid foundation in negotiation principles that attendees will find extremely valuable when participating in future PON programs.
