
Nestle Dreyer's Ice Cream Expansion Project Adds 32 New Jobs
FORT WAYNE, Ind., Aug. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- After 29 years in Fort Wayne, Ind., Nestle Dreyer's Ice Cream, maker of Edy's® Grand Ice Cream and frozen snacks, is preparing for a grand re-opening on Tuesday, August 6, 2013.
The company is also planning to fill 32 production positions, which are in addition to more than 450 existing production positions. The facility employs about 100 management employees.
The factory will celebrate the $4.5 million expansion during a ribbon-cutting event at 3426 N. Wells St. in Fort Wayne. The expansion adds 4,000 square feet and remodels 6,000 square feet of the existing facility.
The expansion opens up new spaces for employees, including a renovated cafeteria, men's and women's locker rooms, two meeting rooms, office space and a new uniform storage area.
Long-time factory employees Mike Stewart, Vince Palmer, Brad Ulrey, John Davis, and Korky Heinkel will participate in the ribbon cutting.
