Elevate Her NV's mission is to bring diverse representation to the state's boards and commissions
CARSON CITY, Nev., March 28, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The Nevada Commission for Women is joining in the celebration of Women's History Month by announcing "Elevate Her NV," a campaign designed to raise awareness about positions currently available on dozens of public boards and commissions. Ultimately the NCFW, through Elevate Her NV, intends to encourage women to apply for leadership positions throughout the state.
"This is a bipartisan effort to advance state government and businesses by working to ensure we embrace the full talents of all the people who live here," said Elisa Cafferata, NCFW commission member.
Elevate Her NV will include a comprehensive campaign to educate women about the opportunities for leadership, to recruit women who are interested in serving, and to ensure that over the long term our state boards and commissions have full representation from a diverse range of engaged and trained participants.
Women who are interested in getting more involved in government, connecting with their communities, developing career skills and establishing credibility are encouraged to visit Boards and Commissions for the State of Nevada to see a listing of current vacancies on Nevada Boards and Commissions. About Elevate Her NV
Elevate Her NV is a bipartisan campaign to fill state board positions with qualified and informed women. Our goal is to ensure women are more adequately represented at the state level through volunteer board positions. Currently, an informal survey shows that Nevada board positions are filled with 60% men and 40% women. By training women throughout the state on the leadership opportunities, the campaign will bring the full diversity of women's talents to the state's boards.
