New Ad Highlights Prop 46's High Cost To State & Local Governments And Taxpayers
Ad features Exec Dir of CA State Association of Counties affirming Prop 46 will cost gov't "hundreds of millions of dollars annually"
SACRAMENTO, Calif., Oct. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, the No on 46 campaign announced it has launched a new 30-second TV ad featuring Matt Cate, Executive Director of the California State Association of Counties (CSAC), expertly detailing the high cost of Proposition 46 to state and local governments and, ultimately, taxpayers. The ad is running statewide.
Because of the inevitable and significant increases in health care costs that are a consequence of Proposition 46, EVERY major local government organization in California is opposing the measure, including: CSAC, The League of California Cities, California Special Districts Association, Rural County Representatives of California, California Association of Joint Powers Authorities, California School Boards Association and the Association of California School Administrators.
In the ad, Matt Cate says: "Proposition 46 would increase state and local government health care costs by 'hundreds of millions of dollars annually.' In fact, Prop 46 will increase our total healthcare costs by billions in just a few years. . . And taxpayers like us will be on the hook for it."
Proposition 46 is so flawed and fiscally-reckless that it is now opposed by EVERY major newspaper in California that has taken a position.
