SANTA MONICA, Calif., Feb. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Exhausted parents who use powdered formula to feed their infants now have assistance with the Milk Nanny, the first fully-automatic appliance to make fresh, warm baby formula in just 15 seconds. Milk Nanny is this week's featured food world innovator in The Lempert Report Innovation Series.
"As any new parent can tell you, the constant feeding and lack of sleep means an innovative tool like this would be a welcome relief," says Phil Lempert, CEO and editor of The Lempert Report. "But what's also interesting is the company is crowdsourcing to raise the $100,000 they need to begin mass production. The results will clearly provide feedback and determine if the world is interested."
Created by startup Wicoz, Inc., Milk Nanny is easy to use. Just fill the water tank and add the formula powder. Then scan the barcode on the formula using a smartphone so Milk Nanny can determine the right amount and temperature of water to use. The calculation is based on the formula's specification and the child's age, feeding patterns and more. The machine's software operates in the cloud, consulting a database that includes nearly 95 percent of all baby formulas sold around the world.
