KITCHENER, Ontario, Nov. 1, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- To raise awareness and funds for a very serious issue, Brine Books Publishing had put together their premiere book "My Whispers of Horror: Letters telling women's true tales from ex-USSR nations" by Chris Brine, Olga Brine, and Brine Books Publishing. It has now been released in hardcover (ISBN 9780992033118), softcover (ISBN 9780992033101), and as an electronic book (ISBN 9780992033125) on Kindle, the iBookstore, and many other online retailers.
It is a collection of translated letters from Russian and Ukrainian women where they explain, in their own voices, what they wish to say on their experiences with devastating issues such as human trafficking with forced prostitution, corruption in the system that works against them, LGBT oppression, domestic violence, child abuse, and more. What these women go through, and how the culture oppresses them, is a trying read that will make it difficult for the reader to pull their eyes away from it.
Join Brine Books Publishing as they bring you letters from such women as Ekaterina, whom was promised a job in New York City but upon arrival was drugged, raped, and beaten into submission only to force her into prostitution for the next number of years. Or follow along with Julianna, whose father had nearly killed her when she tried to stand up for her mother. What is the most shocking about all of these letters is how they are their true stories, and hearing what each woman has to say about their experiences helps one to understand why it is so important to fight against this.
While this is only their premiere book, the publisher is attempting to have each new release raise awareness on various important human rights issues around the world. A percentage of their profits will be donated to different important causes as well. With My Whispers of Horror, the plan is to donate some of the revenue to an organization within Cherkassy, Ukraine that helps to fight for women's equality amongst other important issues. It is in their plan to try to produce real change with the publication of this first book.
And upon the release of this publication, Brine Books Publishing is already working toward their future publications as well. Already they are receiving submissions from writers, poets, and artists for their next anthology. The publishing house is also in the process of finding a human rights based non-profit or charity to partner with for it as well.
