New Century Transportation, Inc. Names Industry Veteran Terrence M. Gilbert Chief Executive Officer

WESTAMPTON, N.J., Jan. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- New Century Transportation announced today that transportation industry veteran Terrence M. Gilbert, former president of Roadway Express, Inc., has been named the company's new Chief Executive Officer.  Harry Muhlschlegel, the company's founder, is retiring from his operating role and will remain on the board of directors of New Century as Vice Chairman.

Mr. Gilbert has over 30 years of experience in the transportation industry having joined less-than-truckload carrier Roadway Express in 1979 as an operations supervisor.  Mr. Gilbert worked his way up through the Roadway Express management ranks holding numerous terminal manager and district manager positions.  In 1998, Mr. Gilbert was named Vice President of the Eastern Division of Roadway with full responsibility for this $900 million revenue region which included 6,500 employees and over 100 terminals.  In 2004, Mr. Gilbert was promoted to Executive Vice President, Sales & Marketing overseeing a team of over 1,000 sales, marketing and customer support professionals.  In 2007, Mr. Gilbert was named President of Roadway Express where he led the strategic direction and executive management of the organization throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.
