The first edition of the book has sold over 200,000 copies. The new edition features a separate chapter on the crucial first day of school and how to set a positive tone right from the start. This book contains the collective wisdom of educators who have collaborated over thirty-plus years to develop and continually refine the Responsive Classroom approach to teaching. In 2000, Roxann Kriete and Paula Denton authored the first edition. Mike Anderson crafted this second edition by building on the success of the first.
