SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The ever-innovating Jasper's Corner Tap and Kitchen, one of the most locally loved of all Union Square restaurants has acquired a new executive chef this month, Chef Adam Steudle, previously of Barlo at Hotel Erwin in Venice, California. Jasper's is an integral part of the Serrano Hotel, a historic boutique hotel among the many branded Union Square hotels. Chef Adam's move to Jasper's heralds a new era for the restaurant. To say the chef seeks an "out of the box" experience for customers is an understatement. He is famous for throwing out all the rules and applying a matchless perspective to menu rejuvenation. The restaurant is also celebrated for its signature cocktails and craft beers.
Meet the New Executive Chef of Jasper's Corner Tap and Kitchen, Adam Steudle
Chef Adam hails from, to use his words, "the mean streets of Laguna Beach, upon whose hardscrabble coast he spent many a dawn gazing into the Pacific—just a young man, a spatula and a dream." He credits his mother with a gentle nudge toward his chosen career by enrolling him in cooking classes at the age of six. Even as a teenager, his jobs revolved around food and beverage until a sudden side-step into aeronautics, when he unexpectedly found himself working for Boeing. When the recession hit, Chef Adam again found himself in a restaurant as a volunteer, but quickly worked his way up to an enviable sous chef position. Soon he was Head Chef at Barlo, master-minding a menu he created to suit his own tastes and not the masses (to critical and every-day foodie acclaim).
Chef Adam's skills are varied and include a mastery of techniques ranging from cooking with liquid nitrogen to infusing modern French style into culinary classics – groundbreaking techniques that have made American bistro a country staple. Chef Adam's arrival at Jasper's Corner Tap and Kitchen is already the talk of the local community. In a recent interview, Chef Adam stated, "I like the idea of people having nothing or a throwaway cut of meat and making something delicious out of it due to necessity. I think that is true artistry and skill. With this approach, just imagine what can be done with the finer, locally sourced cuts available in San Francisco."
His new menu for Jasper's Corner Tap and Kitchen debuts early November, 2015.
