New GT Radial Champiro UHP(AS) Features Advanced Compound and Tread Pattern for Ultra-High, All Season Performance
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif., Sept. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The new GT Radial Champiro UHPAS is being introduced in North America to provide ultra - high performance along with outstanding all season handling and grip for drivers of performance coupes, sedans and SUVs.
Backed by a 45,000-mile limited tread wear warranty, the Champiro UHPAS features an all-new, advanced all season compound and tread design. SBR (Styrene Butadiene Rubber) and evenly distributed Nanometer Silica work together in the compound to enhance grip in wet, high and low temperatures, and light snow conditions. The special silica compound also helps reduce rolling resistance for increased fuel efficiency.
The all-new tread design has four wide circumferential grooves to reduce hydroplaning, along with multi-depth sipes for enhanced wet grip and all season performance throughout the life of the tire. V-shape directional grooves and sipes also contribute to improved water evacuation, while larger shoulder blocks provide increased rigidity for precise handling.
Owners of performance and luxury vehicles will also appreciate the optimized variable pitch technology in the Champiro UHPAS reducing harmonics and road noise for a quieter ride.
"Our R&D folks have come through big time with this new ultra high performance, all season tire," said Armand Allaire, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Giti Tire (USA) Ltd., which markets and sells the GT Radial brand throughout the U.S. and Canada. "Owners of high-performance vehicles want to enjoy driving their sophisticated machines with confidence year round, and this new member of the Champiro family allows them to do just that."
