NEW YORK, April 15, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Tourists, visitors and residents of New York State will see the famed "I Love NY" campaign take on an exciting dimension. The newly launched "I Love NY Water " initiative encourages people to choose our state's great-tasting tap water using a refillable water bottle to keep refreshed as they keep New York beautiful and clean. Refillable water bottles featuring the I Love NY Water mark along with partners' graphics from the state's vacation regions will soon be available at select tourist and retail outlets. Visitors will have a colorful, re-usable 'servenir' to use long after they leave New York.
I Love NY Water's latest campaign encourages people to visit New York's wonderful water attractions and resorts from Niagara Falls to the Finger Lakes and Hudson Valley to Long Island – while enjoying our world-renowned tap water. Our state's tap water is virtually free and subject to stringent federal safety regulations. Using a refillable water bottle saves millions of disposable bottles from ending up in landfills, lakes, streams and oceans where they may never fully decompose.
Sid Lerner, best known for founding the non-profit public health initiative Meatless Monday, is also the originator of I Love NY Water. Lerner said, "We're promoting our free and great-tasting tap water to visitors while calling attention to all the great things to do and see in New York. Our headline 'You'll love New York State. So much to see you'll think it's a country' speaks to this." Lerner added, "We are hoping to partner with New York State organizations and provide free graphics and other assets for those who want to participate and build a movement encouraging 'refills not landfills'."
I Love NY Water's mission is to encourage people to choose New York's tap water using a refillable water bottle every day. The initiative promotes the advantages of our state's water including its quality standards, health benefits, low cost and delicious taste. I Love New York Water has the official use of the world-renowned I "Heart" NY logo to help bring awareness of this important initiative. For more information about I Love NY Water please visit:
