New iPhone app Makes Team Collaboration on the Move Easier and Faster

FCG's MindLink for iPhone brings Microsoft Lync Persistent Group Chat to iPhone business users

Formicary Collaboration Group, (FCG) a provider of team based social collaboration solutions, is making it easier for iPhone business users to remain productive and informed while on the move with the launch of a new social collaboration app.  

Based on FCG's social collaboration platform MindLink, the app brings Persistent Group Chat to the iPhone and, for the first time, allows multiple live conversations to be streamed simultaneously on a single iPhone screen - making it easier and faster to view discussions and collaborate with others.

By filtering out distracting, less relevant chatter, MindLink for iPhone means that mobile users - who are typically short of time - can stay on top of those discussions that are of upmost importance.  Additionally, notifications can be set to alert users when a message from a particular group has been generated, eliminating the burden of sifting through less important messages.

As well as facilitating collaboration remotely via Persistent Group Chat, MindLink for iPhone can provide a single interface to the information within an organisation's other business applications such as the CRM, project management system or trading system.  Removing the need to launch a separate app for each business application simplifies and centralises how users stay up to date with the latest events and transactions generated by these systems while on the move, so that they can respond accordingly in a timely manner.  Furthermore, installing a single app to access multiple information sources in this way lessens the burden on IT teams charged with supporting the mobile applications.

MindLink for iPhone has been launched under private beta testing at the start of October ahead of a full public release in November.

As MindLink leverages Persistent Group Chat, a component of Microsoft Lync 2010 and Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2, users do not need to invest in a completely new technology in order to become more collaborative.
