BENTON HARBOR, Mich., Dec. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Luxury appliance maker Jenn-Air, whose built-in refrigerator collection offers the industry's most fully integrated and flush design, is adding new models to complete its built-in portfolio. New options include 48" and 42" side by side models featuring the brand's signature Obsidian interior, a dramatic and sophisticated deep charcoal that offers a compelling contrast compared to traditional white interiors.

A fully integrated and flush design allows the refrigerators to achieve a nearly seamless appearance by concealing hinges and trim pieces and blending into cabinetry. An articulating hinge rotates at multiple pivot points to minimize gaps while also ensuring the opened door remains within the plane of surrounding cabinetry, even when the door opens beyond 90 degrees.
"Given the continuing trend of open kitchens in modern, high-end homes, attention to design detail is as important in the kitchen as in other highly visible gathering places," notes Maynard.
To help maintain ideal conditions for preserving food, the brand's Precision Temperature Management™ System monitors and adjusts temperatures with an independent server in each compartment. An advanced climate control drawer offers specialized settings for keeping a range of food, including cheeses and meats, at their freshest. A produce preserver helps delay over-ripening of select fruits and vegetables by absorbing ethylene gas.1
Enhancing the distinctive Obsidian interior is multi-point LED theater lighting that evenly distributes light while minimizing shadows throughout the refrigerator, crisper and freezer. Innovatively designed soft, auto-close drawers provide smooth operation by easily rolling open and closed even when fully loaded. Metal accents on drawers and adjustable door bins further enhance the interior design.
Scheduled for availability in January 2016, both the 42" and 48" models accept custom overlay panels and handles to coordinate with kitchen cabinetry. Both are also available in stainless steel with style options that include the brand's Euro-Style design featuring slightly curved, stainless steel handles, and its more commercial Pro-Style® which includes stainless steel handles with diamond etched grips. Models featuring a cubed/crushed ice and water dispenser integrated into the built-in exterior will also be available in both sizes and styles.
