New Literacy Resources for Spanish-Speaking Students

MONTEREY, Calif., April 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Evan-Moor Educational Publishers has expanded its Hot Topics: High-Interest Reading program to include leveled Spanish resources to support Spanish-speaking English learners in grades 4 and up.

The high-interest, low readability reading selections help English language learners build confidence in reading in their native language.

Hot Topics: High-Interest Reading:

• includes leveled reading selections ranging from grades 2.5 to 4.5 and a Lexile range of 400–760.
• supports emergent English speakers with audio read-alouds and reading selections in English.
• is available in four different sets for a variety of leveled reading selections, genres, and topics.

The new Hot Topics bilingual kit includes the same resources as the English-only kit, with the addition of Spanish reading selections. Each bilingual kit includes:

• 20 Spanish reading selections, 6 copies each
• 20 English reading selections, 6 copies each, to support emergent English speakers
• Audio read-alouds of every selection in English for emergent English speakers
• Teacher's guide in English
