New Major Scholarship Initiative To Support Graduate Students Committed To Social Impact And Sustainability

SAN FRANCISCO, March 7, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Today Presidio Graduate School, among the world's first and leading sustainability graduate programs, announced an additional commitment to scholarship aid, supporting MBA, MPA, and Dual Degree students who have demonstrated leadership in and passion for the sustainability field.

In the inaugural year of the initiative, $250,000 in scholarships will be awarded to students enrolled for Fall 2013. Scholarships, ranging from $2,500 to $5,000, will be based on the potential strength of an applicant to be not only an outstanding Presidio student but a high-impact sustainability professional after graduation.

The Presidio Board of Directors have expressed keen interest in providing financial support to Presidio students given the growing financial burden so many graduate students face today. Accordingly, the Presidio Board have provided additional financial support to be targeted to many of the 2013 Fall cohort of 60 students and returning students.

Students join Presidio from all over the world but most commonly matriculate from California, the Pacific Northwest, Colorado and the Northeast. Among the best represented undergraduate institutions at Presidio are UC Berkeley, UCLA, UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz, San Francisco State University, University of Colorado Boulder, University of Wisconsin, University of Vermont, Stanford University, Yale University and Brown University. Presidio students share one thing in common: they are mission-driven. And that mission is to change the world.
