The Phoenix, Arizona-based school will receive 1.5% of purchases made with the branded mCards in addition to any donations made from selected merchants who accept the mobile payment solution.
New Media Insight Group estimates that the Desert Trails Elementary School PTO could generate an additional $20,000 per year for the school through the use of mCards. Transaction data can be collected and analyzed from mCards, which will allow the Desert Trails Elementary School PTO (and any other non-profit organization) to track donation programs and customize them to maximize their potential benefits.
mCards are one of the only mobile payment solutions on the market today that do not require specialized hardware. Any merchant who accepts MasterCard can accept payment from a mCard with a simple sign-up process. Similar to a branded physical credit card, mCards will be emblazoned with the logo of the organization they support.
