NEW YORK, Nov. 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- TAHAANGA, a new menswear line based out of New York City, has announced the launch of its premier line of men's dress shirts, dubbed "the fastest drying men's dress shirt on earth," which launched via Kickstarter this morning.

TAHAANGA's shirts incorporate the latest technology affording men the ability to look polished in crisp, clean, fashionably tailored dress shirts while living active lifestyles. After a year of research and development, the line is being proudly developed in the design hub of NYC and manufactured in Italy, with its well-established tradition of exceptional craftsmanship, using a superior quality European cotton blend that offers the latest advancements in performance wear technology to create a shirt that is: moisture-wicking, wrinkle-resistant, quick dry, non-iron, hang to dry, anti-bacterial, odor resistant and will never fade.
The name TAHAANGA originates from the Maori word for "naked". This concept inspired the search for a fabric so light and soft it could mimic the sensation of being naked while still looking polished and professional. Essentially, the goal is to enable men to bike to work, attend a board meeting, and go out and celebrate afterwards: all with no sweat.
The fabric is not only innovative in its function, but it is also the first time it is being used in the U.S. market for menswear. The fabric is also sustainable in its manufacturing process, consuming 10% less energy, 15% less CO2 emissions, and 94% less water consumption than its cotton competitors. It is also made from a cotton blend, which incorporates post-consumer recycled plastic.
TAHAANGA will launch initially with blue button-down shirts at a retail price of $225, and will later rollout with classic white and less traditional colors including pink. Shirt details include Tahaanga's signature embellished shirt cuffs, pearl buttons and red stitching.
TAHAANGA is the brainchild of Berlin-born, New York based fashion specialist Manuela Fassbender, founder and creative director of the fashion consultancy MBF TREND CONSULTING, INC.
