New Oberweis International Opportunities Institutional Fund Launches

CHICAGO, March 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Oberweis Asset Management, Inc., a registered investment advisor specializing in the global management of micro-, small- and mid-capitalization growth portfolios announced today that it will manage a new fund, the Oberweis International Opportunities Institutional Fund (OBIIX).  

The Oberweis International Opportunities Institutional Fund is anticipated to mirror the investment strategy and return profile of the Oberweis International Opportunities Fund (OBIOX), which is rated five-stars by Morningstar* and the #1 foreign small/mid cap growth fund out of 121 funds according to Morningstar for the trailing three year period ended 12/31/13.  The overall expense ratio of the new fund is capped at 1.10% and the fund requires a minimum investment of $1 million.  The new fund represents Oberweis' effort to provide an institutional commingled vehicle for investor access to their well-regarded International Small Cap Team. The Fund, which will primarily invest in non-US equity securities with the objective of maximum long-term capital appreciation, will be managed by Ralf Scherschmidt. Mr. Scherschmidt is a German national who earned his undergraduate degree from Georgetown.
