WENDELL, N.C., April 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Fortrans Inc. announces a portable pH control system for the concrete polishing, grinding and cutting industry and other generators of high pH waste water.
With its small footprint and portability, the Poli-Cut™ system is ideal for treating the high pH waste water produced in concrete polishing, cutting and grinding operations.
The Poli-Cut is very useful for batch or continuous batch neutralization of high pH water generated by filter press operations at small waste water treatment plants.
The system uses carbon dioxide gas to automatically adjust the pH of process water to pH 7.0 or neutral so that the water can be recycled back to the polishing or grinding operation or legally discharged to a sanitary sewer system. Plus, carbon dioxide is less expensive and safer than the handling of corrosive acids.
The Poli-Cut™ pH control system comes complete with an integral tank, pump, controls, and Fortrans' proprietary carbon dioxide diffusion-injection unit. The 2-speed pump system will treat from 1,500 gallons per hour up to 3,000 gallons per hour automatically.
The system is shipped completely assembled. All components are NEMA 4 rated and are installed within the tank framework for ease of handling.
The tank features a 2" bottom discharge and comes with a 50' roll of flat hose equipped with cam lock quick connect fittings. One 12" threaded top port with cover and one 2" through fitting are included for loading and unloading the tank with process water.
The lightweight system can be transported in most construction trailers and is mounted on swivel casters for easy loading and maneuvering at the job site. Simply plug in, connect to the CO2 regulator and the system is ready to run. (C02 supply and regulator furnished by others.)
