DENVER, March 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Construction is almost complete for a new POP-Up retail space in the heart of downtown Denver at Denver Pavilions on level 2. The I HEART DENVER store features goods from all-local artists and designers from Denver and the surrounding area. The grand opening is on April 9th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., featuring the debut of the store with work from 50 local artists, local DJ’s, and locally made treats.
The I HEART DENVER STORE model is unique as it supports Denver's creative economy. Participating artists and designers receive an unprecedented 70% of their sales made in the store.
However, I HEART DENVER is more than a store. Through participation, artists and designers have access to an incubation of ideas and networking opportunities to further their businesses. Artists cull knowledge ranging from information about market pricing, customer interaction, packaging, and product viability. The access to direct capital generated from the store allows them to continue their work in creative fields and fine-tune their products as well as build their brands.
Another unique component of the store is the exportation of local goods via Denver's creative class. Everyday thousands of people from around the globe visit Downtown to experience Denver's #1 tourist attraction, the 16th St. Mall. The store, ideally located in the heart of Downtown at Denver Pavilions, effectively captures this audience and provides the artists the opportunity to represent and define Denver's creative culture.
The I HEART DENVER store is made possible through the support of select sponsorships providing expertise and funding on store construction, development, aesthetics, and programming. By connecting with important cultural institutions on the city and state level, the I HEART DENVER Store helps to keep artists/designers on the radar of these institutions and decision makers, allowing for further opportunities.
This new POP-Up retail space is made possible through supporters, partners, and sponsorship of Denver's creative economy. To learn more about theses businesses, municipalities, and education institutions visit:
