New P.O.W. Activist Organization "Honor-Release-Return" Forms, Calls for Rally in Washington, D.C., on April 9, 2013

New Group Hopes to Re-Energize Public Support for Full Accounting of Missing Service Personnel

LAKE WALES, Fla., Feb. 27, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A group of veteran activists who have spent years trying to gain the truth about prisoners of war and those missing in action (POW/MIA) has formed a new organization called Honor-Release-Return, Inc. (HRR). HRR's mission is to re-energize public interest and gain the truth about U.S. prisoners of war, achieve declassification of all information associated with their service and challenge the U.S. government to negotiate for their return.

HRR's first public awareness event will be a March and Demonstration in Washington, D.C., on April 9, beginning with a wreath-laying at the war memorials, followed by a march to the steps of the U.S. Capitol building, and featuring speeches by some of the nation's leading POW/MIA activists. They will focus on demanding that the U.S. government formally request and negotiate for the return of all live Americans who are in captivity in foreign countries, and negotiate for information concerning Americans unaccounted for and believed to be held captive in Southeast Asia, Russia, North Korea, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The new organization was founded by long-time POW/MIA activists Jim "Moe" Moyer and Bob "Bulldog" Ousley. Moyer co-founded The Ride Home Inc., the nation's premier annual event to honor America's former prisoners of war and the families of those still missing, and the HRR organization is an extension of The Ride Home.

"For too long, our government has focused solely on locating and returning remains, which is one way to obtain closure for the families of POWs and MIAs," said Moyer. "However, little effort has been given to locating those who might still be alive, despite documentation in the government's own archives that indicates that there could be hundreds still held from the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. The families of those left behind deserve full accounting too. And there's Ssgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who has been held for nearly four years in the Middle East as we are preparing to withdraw our troops from Afghanistan. What about him?" he added.

Honor-Release-Return hopes to bring the POW/MIA activist communities together to foster coordinated actions and unify a successful national effort.
