Odalys Nanin, director of the new romantic comedy "Valentino Valentina," describes the show as "... a modern version of 'Twelfth Night' set in Los Angeles. Valentino and Valentina are sister and brother who are involved in a car crash while crossing the border with a Coyote (smuggler). Valentina and the Coyote run to the hills and survive, but Valentino is nowhere to be found. Valentina now becomes Valentino in order to find work in the City of Angels, but all he/she finds is Love."

Valentina (as Valentino) goes to work for (and falls for) Ernesto, who is profoundly in love with the beautiful entrepreneur Olivia who is soon besotted with Valentino/Valentina. Olivia's assistant Rodrigue, seeking to gain an advantage with her, is tricked by several others in her orbit into making a play for her, in their idea of a practical joke.

Is Valentina really alone in the world, or is there the slightest hope that her beloved twin brother Valentino may have survived the fiery crash as she did?

As in the original play by Shakespeare from which "Valentino Valentina" derives its inspiration, there are mistaken identities and the mysterious sense of wonder that newly emerging love can provide. The issue of immigration makes the play more relevant to present-day audiences.
