SAN DIEGO, March 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Plain White T's and Slacker, Inc. today launched Plain White T's Radio, a station featuring songs from the Grammy-nominated band, as well as music from artists that have inspired them over the years. The station also features commentary and introductions from the band members as well as three exclusive acoustic performances recorded live in the Slacker studios. Plain White T's Radio is now available for free in the Slacker Spotlight section on the web, on home entertainment devices and all leading smartphones.

Slacker Spotlight is a special station category that can be found on any Slacker Radio application. The Plain White T's Radio station can also be accessed directly on the web at: www.Slacker.com/PlainWhiteTs

Plain White T's formed in the late 90's, already having several independent releases to their credit before their 2007 mega-hit "Hey There Delilah" became an international, chart-topping sensation. The band's latest release, The Wonders of the Younger, revels in the marvels of youth and an anything-can-happen spirit that has the band experimenting with broader arrangements and themes.

"Our Slacker station includes our favorite songs of all time, some newer and some older but all of them very meaningful to us," said Tom Higgenson, co-founder and lead singer of Plain White T's. "Working with Slacker lets us share new material and exclusive live performances while providing us with a new way to connect with our fans as we host our very own radio station."

The Plain White T's Artist Showcase station is programmed and hosted by band members Tom Higgenson, Tim Lopez, Dave Tirio, Mike Retondo and De'Mar Hamilton. The station provides listeners with a variety of Plain White T's hits, an eclectic mix of hundreds of hand-picked favorites from a range of other artists including Bruce Springsteen, Jimmy Eat World, Kanye West, Pavement and many more, as well as commentary from the band on the tunes that have influenced them over the more than two decades of playing together. In addition to the group's selections, songs from their latest album The Wonders of the Younger are also programmed into the station.

"The Artist Showcase stations provide artists with a unique outlet to connect with their fans," said Scott Riggs, Director of Radio at Slacker. "The Plain White T's station takes this partnership to a new level by providing Slacker listeners with exclusive live performances in addition to the opportunity to discover extraordinary insight into the group's musical tastes and influences."
